THEFUTUREOFJEWELRY LLC, of 750 Stonegate Dr, Wexford, PA 15090, United States, is responsible for the information described below. This policy explains what happens to
your information when you use our design apps or buy from thefutureofjewelry.com. We have written it to describe what we actually do, rather than everything we might one day do.
Last updated August 2026.
WHAT WE KEEP ON YOUR DEVICE
Most of what the design apps store never leaves your browser:
- The design you are working on, and any designs you save, so you can come back to them later.
- Sketches you draw in the sketch editor.
- Your shopping bag, which is shared between the Signets, Pendants and Bands apps.
- A record of your cookie choice, so that we do not ask you again.
- After you begin a checkout, a reference to it, stored alongside your bag, so that we can empty the bag of the things you paid for when you come back.
None of this identifies you, and none of it is sent to us unless you share a design or place an order. You can delete all of it at any time by clearing site data in your browser.
ANALYTICS
We use Google Analytics to understand how the design tools are used - which materials and options people choose, and where they run into trouble. It stores a cookie containing a
randomly generated ID for your browser. We do not use it for advertising, and Google's advertising features are switched off.
- If you are in the EU, the UK, the EEA or Switzerland, analytics stays switched off until you accept it.
- Elsewhere it runs by default, and you can switch it off.
Either way you can change your mind whenever you like, from Privacy Settings in the menu. If you decline, we stop sending anything to Google and delete the analytics
cookies already on your device.
WHEN YOU BUY SOMETHING
Checkout is operated by Shopify. It takes place at checkout.thefutureofjewelry.com, which is our domain name pointing at Shopify's checkout - so although it looks like our site, Shopify
is the company handling that page, and it sets its own cookies there.
Shopify collects your name, shipping address and payment details. Your payment details never reach us, and we do not store your name or address in our own systems.
What we do store once an order is placed is your email address, your phone number, the order number, and the designs in the order. We keep these so that we can produce and deliver what
you bought, and help you if something goes wrong with it.
We also keep a short-lived record of the checkout itself - a reference and the designs that went into it, with no personal details attached. Its only job is to tell your browser which
items to take out of your bag when you return from paying. It is discarded once that has happened.
YOUR DESIGNS AND UPLOADS
When you share a design or place an order, that design is uploaded to us and stored, so that it can be produced and so that a shared link keeps working.
If you upload an image and use the automatic depth map feature, that image is sent to Google's Gemini API, which returns the greyscale relief used to shape your piece. Please do not
upload anything you would not want processed by a third party.
WHEN WE EMAIL YOU
There are only three reasons we will ever email you:
- To send the download link for a digital product you bought.
- To send a discount code after a resin sample order.
- To answer you, or to reach out if there is a problem with your order.
We do not run a newsletter and we do not send anything else. Promotional emails include an unsubscribe link.
WHO ELSE SEES YOUR INFORMATION
- Shopify, which runs our checkout, takes payment and holds the order record.
- Google, for analytics if you have allowed it, and for the Gemini depth map feature if you use it.
- Amazon Web Services, which hosts our site, stores our files and sends our email.
- Slack, where our own team channel receives a notification containing your email address when an order comes in.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising. We may disclose information where we are legally required to.
HOW LONG WE KEEP IT
We keep order records, and the email address attached to them, for as long as we may need them for support, warranty and accounting. Download links for digital products stay valid so
that you can download again what you have already paid for.
You can ask us to delete or anonymise your details at any time, and we will do so unless we are required to keep a record of the sale.
WHY WE ARE ALLOWED TO DO THIS
Data protection law asks us to be clear about our grounds for each thing we do with your information. Ours are:
- To do what you asked us to. Taking your order, producing it, delivering it, sending your download link and helping you afterwards are all part of our contract with you.
- Because you agreed. Analytics, where consent is required, and the discount code email. You can withdraw either at any time.
- Because we have to. We keep a record of sales for tax and accounting.
- Because we have a legitimate interest. Protecting against fraudulent orders and keeping the site working. We only rely on this where it does not override your own
rights.
YOUR RIGHTS
Wherever you live, you can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, to correct it, to delete or anonymise it, or to stop using it.
You can also withdraw your consent to analytics or to the discount email whenever you like. That does not make anything we did beforehand unlawful, and it will not affect your order or
your access to anything you have bought.
To make a request, use our
contact form and choose
Privacy request, or email help@tfoj.com. We will reply within 30 days, and we will
not charge you or ask you to justify the request.
If you are in the EU or the UK these are your rights under the GDPR; several US states, including California, give you similar ones. Deleting your details from our systems does not by
itself remove your order from Shopify - tell us and we will deal with both.
If you think we have handled your information badly, you can complain to a data protection authority. In the EU that is the authority for the country you live or work in; in the UK it is
the Information Commissioner's Office. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right, but you are not obliged to.
WHERE YOUR INFORMATION GOES
We are based in the United States and our systems run there. If you are in Europe or the UK, your information is transferred to and stored in the United States.
The providers we rely on for that - Shopify, Google and Amazon Web Services - are either certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or offer the European Commission's Standard
Contractual Clauses. That is what makes the transfer lawful.
DO NOT TRACK
We do not currently respond to Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals from your browser. Privacy Settings in the menu does the same job, and we act on it
immediately.
CHANGES
We update this page when what we do changes, rather than on a schedule. It was last updated in August 2026.
